These Terms govern abtestkit.io, the abtestkit WordPress plugin and the connected abtestkit service. “abtestkit”, “we” and “us” mean the operator of abtestkit.io and the connected service. Contact support@abtestkit.io for service questions or formal notices; an address for correspondence is available on request. Our Privacy Policy explains personal-data processing, and our Data Processing Agreement applies where we process customer data on a customer’s behalf.
1) Accounts and connected functions
An authorised site administrator must create and verify an abtestkit account, connect the WordPress site and accept the current connected-service Terms to create or launch new experiments. The service records the agreement version and acceptance time. The person connecting a site confirms that they are authorised to act for its owner and will keep account details and access credentials accurate and secure.
The connected service provides account and site registration, verification, bounded aggregate experiment state, environment and compatibility information, service notifications, and operational and product-journey reporting. The plugin sends the information described in the Privacy Policy after a site is connected. This required transmission is part of the connected service; it is not an optional anonymous-telemetry setting. Email preferences control result-ready, health/recovery and weekly-digest messages, not the connected-service transmission. Optional deactivation feedback and compatibility-help diagnostics are sent only when an administrator chooses those actions, apart from a minimal connected deactivation event.
Detailed visitor-level experiment rows, order IDs and local reports remain in the customer’s WordPress database and are not uploaded in the automatic connected stream. Existing running experiments, visitor assignment, local recording and reports do not require a live service response for each visitor. A service outage may delay connected functions without stopping those local functions. A disconnected site cannot create or launch new experiments under the connected model until it is connected again.
2) Customer responsibilities
The customer controls its WordPress site, experiments, content and visitor data. It must choose a lawful basis for visitor measurement, provide suitable privacy and cookie information, apply any required consent or objection controls, decide how long to keep local experiment records, and respond to visitor requests about its site. An administrator’s acceptance of these Terms is not consent on behalf of site visitors. The customer should not include unnecessary personal, sensitive or payment information in test names or optional support messages.
The plugin uses first-party variant-assignment and limited deduplication cookies or session storage. The usual assignment duration is 30 days, but may be changed per test. Whether an exemption from visitor consent applies depends on the experiment and applicable law; customers must assess their own use.
Customers are responsible for their own WordPress hosting, security and backups. Deactivating the plugin does not erase local tests or reports. A clean uninstall removes plugin-owned local state. Deleting an abtestkit account does not delete information in a customer’s separate WordPress database.
3) Emails, disconnect and deletion
The account holder can switch off the three optional service-email categories separately or together. Necessary verification, security and account messages may still be sent. To avoid resending to an address after a permanent bounce or complaint, the service keeps a permanent peppered recipient hash, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Disconnecting a site revokes its connected access and clears its pending local connected queue, but does not itself delete hosted site history. The account holder can then remove the disconnected site to delete its hosted snapshots, raw events, registrations and bounded journey summaries. Account deletion removes account-owned hosted records, subject to recovery copies, legal requirements and the separate bounce/complaint suppression record described in the Privacy Policy. Customers should request any hosted information they need before deleting the account.
4) Acceptable use and access
You must not use the website, plugin or service unlawfully; probe another account; bypass access controls; introduce malicious code; or overload or interfere with the service. We may restrict access where reasonably needed for security, abuse, legal compliance or a material breach. Where practicable, we will explain the issue and allow it to be corrected. Urgent security action may be immediate. We will not intentionally erase a customer’s local WordPress reports through a hosted-account restriction.
5) Availability, changes and ending the service
We aim to keep the service available, but do not guarantee uninterrupted access or a particular testing outcome, conversion uplift, compatibility or revenue result. Customers should test material website changes safely, including on staging where appropriate.
We may change the plugin or connected service. For a material change to mandatory data categories, purposes or these Terms, we will give appropriate notice and require renewed acceptance where needed. Security or legally required changes may take effect sooner. We may discontinue the hosted service on reasonable notice, with an opportunity to request available hosted information before closure where practicable. You may stop using the service and disconnect or delete your account using the controls described above.
6) Intellectual property and third parties
The plugin’s open-source code is licensed under the licence supplied with the plugin. These Terms do not remove rights granted by that licence. The abtestkit name, branding and website material remain ours or our licensors’ unless stated otherwise. WordPress, WooCommerce, hosting, page builders and other third-party services have their own terms and are outside our control.
7) Liability and statutory rights
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or removes mandatory consumer rights. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service, including lost profit or business opportunity. We do not set a monetary cap on direct loss in these Terms. Customers remain responsible for their own site content, visitor notices, local data, backups and testing decisions.
8) Law and contact
